Project Scope: Star Group Canada Ltd. completed replacement of multiple expansion joints and control joints at Toronto Pearson International Airport in active terminal and operational areas.
The work included removal of existing joint materials, saw cutting and preparation of concrete joint edges, cleaning and preparation of joint substrates, installation of new expansion joint systems and control joint sealants, and restoration of adjacent concrete and terrazzo surfaces.
Project Detail
- General construction and building renewal services across Terminal 1, Terminal 3, airside, and landside airport facilities.
- Structural and architectural repairs including crack repairs, concrete spall repairs, expansion joint replacement, and control joint replacement.
- Interior renovations such as new framing, drywall installation, drywall repairs, full skim coat, sanding, priming, and painting.
- Ceiling work including T-bar grid replacement, ceiling tile installation, drywall ceilings, bulkheads, and lighting integration.
- Flooring installation and repairs including vinyl flooring, carpet tiles, tile flooring, and epoxy floor coatings.
- Door, frame, and window replacements, including AODA-compliant hardware and fire-rated assemblies.
- Mechanical and HVAC modifications including diffuser relocations, new diffusers, duct adjustments, and tie-ins.
- Electrical work including installation of new outlets, new circuits, data conduits, lighting fixtures, occupancy sensors, and panel modifications.
- Plumbing upgrades and installations including new sinks, faucets, drains, supply and waste lines for kitchenettes and office upgrades.
- Office alterations including new partitions, flooring, ceilings, lighting, outlets, cabinetry, millwork, and reconfiguration of work areas.
- High-finish interior renewal including complete touch-ups, caulking, patch repairs, and detailed clean-ups to meet airport quality standards.
