Project Scope: Star Painting & Repairs Ltd. holds an ongoing General Construction Services contract with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), delivering building renewal and renovation work across Terminal 1, Terminal 3, and associated airside and landside facilities. The work is performed on an as-requested basis within active, high-security, and fully operational environments, requiring detailed coordination, phased execution, and strict adherence to GTAA standards, safety protocols, and overnight work schedules.
Scope of Work Included
- General construction and building renewal services across terminal, airside, and landside facilities.
- Concrete restoration including crack repairs, spall repairs, and replacement of expansion joints and control joints at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, both airside and groundside areas.
- Terrazzo flooring repairs and installation to match existing terrazzo colours and patterns, completed by skilled specialists to seamlessly blend new work with existing finishes.
- Interior renovations including framing, drywall installation, finishing, and painting.
- Ceiling work including T-bar grid systems, ceiling tile replacement, drywall ceilings, and bulkheads.
- Flooring installation and repairs including vinyl, carpet tile, tile flooring, and epoxy coatings.
- Door, frame, and window replacements including fire-rated assemblies and AODA-compliant hardware.
- Mechanical and HVAC modifications including diffuser relocations, duct adjustments, and system tie-ins.
- Electrical work including lighting installation, receptacles, new circuits, data conduits, and panel upgrades.
- Plumbing installations including sinks, faucets, drainage, and water supply systems.
- Office renovations including partitions, millwork, cabinetry, ceilings, flooring, and workspace reconfiguration.
- High-quality finishing work including skim coating, patching, caulking, and detailed touch-ups.
- Staging, barricading, dust control, and maintenance of safe public access in active terminal environments.
- Coordination with GTAA for FAP permits, CCPO inspections, and compliance with security and operational requirements.
- Multi-phase construction and execution within restricted time windows, including overnight work.
- Full General Contractor responsibilities including labour, materials, subcontractor management, scheduling, and quality control.
