Project Scope: Star Group Canada Ltd. is the General Contractor for a 5-year emergency on-call contract with Metrolinx, providing 24/7 rapid response to structural and building emergencies across GO Stations, parking structures, platforms, and facility buildings. The work involves immediate mobilization, hazard mitigation, temporary stabilization, and full restoration of damaged components within active transit environments, requiring night work, staging, and close coordination with Metrolinx operations.
Scope of Work Included
- 24/7 emergency response and rapid mobilization to active sites.
- Emergency demolition and removal of damaged structural and architectural elements.
- Temporary shoring and stabilization of structures (piers, columns, canopies, and building elements).
- Structural steel repairs and replacement including HSS members and canopy supports.
- Concrete restoration including pier repairs, slab repairs, wall repairs, and surface reinstatement.
- Waterproofing and restoration of building envelope components.
- Removal of hazardous debris and securing of work areas with fencing and barricades.
- Reinstatement of mechanical and electrical systems affected by damage.
- Full reconstruction of damaged structural components to original design and specifications.
- Restoration of finishes including walls, ceilings, and architectural elements.
- Multi-phase execution in occupied, high-traffic transit environments.
- Staging, public protection, and safe maintenance of pedestrian and operational access.
- Coordination with Metrolinx operations, inspectors, and stakeholders.
- Preparation of work plans, safety documentation, and daily reporting.
- Full General Contractor responsibilities including labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor management, scheduling, and quality control.
