Project Scope: Star Group Canada Ltd. served as the General Contractor for the washroom expansion and full AODA accessibility upgrade at Whitby GO Station. The project included structural demolition, construction of a new building addition, building envelope integration, and full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades.
The work was completed in multiple phases within an active station environment, requiring staging, public protection, and coordination with Metrolinx operations throughout construction.
Project Details
Main Scope of Work Included:
- Structural demolition of existing walls, slabs, and partitions.
- Construction of new building extension including structural footings, reinforced concrete slab, masonry walls, and lintels.
- Integration of new addition with existing building envelope including waterproofing, insulation, and flashing.
- Washroom expansion and full AODA accessibility upgrades.
- Installation of new sanitary, DCW, and DHW plumbing systems.
- Mechanical and HVAC modifications including exhaust and heating systems.
- Electrical upgrades including lighting, emergency lighting, receptacles, communication conduits, and door operators.
- Interior architectural finishes including partitions, drywall, tiling, flooring, ceilings, millwork, and painting.
- Multi-phase construction in an active GO Station environment with staging and public protection.
